Manatee County detectives arrest 2, seize $13,000 in narcotics

MANATEE -- A Palmetto man and woman were arrested by law officers serving a search warrant at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday and will face drug charges, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Division conducted a narcotics investigation that resulted in a search warrant in a home in the 2100 block of Third Avenue East in Palmetto.

Detectives reportedly seized 29.2 grams of heroin, 45 grams of rock cocaine, 61.8 grams of powder cocaine and 13.1 grams marijuana. Detectives estimated the narcotics value at $13,000.

They also found drug paraphernalia and three firearms, including one reported stolen out of Manatee County.

Noel Wade, 37, and Agustus Mcgriff III, 27, were arrested on scene. Bond information was not immediately available.

Mcgriff is charged with possession of rock cocaine, marijuana and paraphernalia.
