Two male suspects try to rob a man and juvenile lost in a BMW

MANATEE -- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident in which two suspects tried to rob a 25-year-old man and a juvenile trying to make a three-point turn in the 3300 block of 51st Avenue Drive West in Bradenton.

The incident occurred at 5:40 p.m. Thursday while the two victims were pulling onto 51st Avenue Drive West to turn around after getting lost in their 2015 BMW.

Deputies reported two suspects ran up to the BMW, and one pulled a long-barreled black revolver, pointed it at the driver and said: "Give me all your (expletive). I'm not playing."

According to the release, the victim panicked, froze and did nothing, which apparently enraged the suspect who began smashing the revolver on the windshield.

As the suspect smashed the pistol on the windshield a second time, deputies reported the cylinder flew open revealing the pistol was not loaded. A struggle then ensued between the suspect and the driver over the gun.

The sheriff's office said the suspect pulled back and the victims fled. The driver then went down the road and called the sheriff's office, according to the release.

No injuries were reported. Nothing was taken but deputies said the suspects could not be located.

The first suspect was described as a shirtless 5-foot-8 male, weighing 130 pounds, carrying a blue backpack. The second suspect was described as a 6-foot male weighing 180 pounds and wearing flat-top jean shorts and a white T-shirt. The suspects looked to be around 16 years old, according to deputies.
