Sarasota Sheriff: Nokomis man arrested on felony drug charges
SARASOTA -- A Nokomis man was arrested Monday morning on felony drug and weapons charges after detectives executed a search warrant at his home, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies performed a traffic stop on Troy Ulrich, 47, at the intersection of Buena Vista Drive and Palm Avenue in Nokomis.
When Ulrich, who had two outstanding warrants, attempted to run, deputies deployed a K-9 Unit and took him into custody, according to a release.
Detectives reportedly recovered a bag containing more than 4 grams of cocaine, a digital scale and cash in his pocket. The sheriff's office said detectives seized an additional 95 grams of cannabis, several .22-caliber bullets, drug paraphernalia and more than $4,000 in cash at his home.
Ulrich was charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and resisting without violence, deputies said.
He was held in Sarasota County jail on bonds totaling $69,500, according to the sheriff's office website.
Ulrich's history includes 26 prior arrests in Sarasota County and 17 felony convictions.
