2 Sarasota killers sentenced to life in prison

SARASOTA -- A Sarasota County jury Friday convicted Byron Jones and Aenri Ellis of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Jonathan Jeffery during a home invasion robbery in December 2014.

Jones of St. Petersburg, and Ellis of Clearwater were two of seven people charged by the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

Jones and Ellis were also convicted of home invasion robbery and tampering with a witness.

Both were sentenced to life in prison.

Christian Theodore, the last remaining suspect connected to Jeffrey's murder, is scheduled to face a jury later this year.
