Bradenton woman high on meth, crack tries to stab ex-boyfriend

MANATEE -- A 20-year-old woman high on methamphetamines and crack cocaine tried to stab her ex-boyfriend with a box cutter when he threw her drugs away Saturday night, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Breanna Long and the victim had been dating for a year but broke up about three weeks ago, according to an arrest report. The victim was at his tent in the 1800 block of 30th Avenue West at 9:30 p.m. when Long came in high on meth and crack.

Long told the victim she needed to sleep and took a dilaudid, a prescription opioid, according to deputies. The two started arguing about Long taking more drugs and the victim eventually took the rest of Long's dilaudid and threw it in the woods. The victim then started packing up to leave.

Long pushed him in the back and produced a box cutter and put it up to his arm, saying she would cut him if she didn't get her drugs back, according to the report. The victim pushed away and tried to leave, but Long then grabbed a razor and tried to cut his face, swinging at him repeatedly. The victim avoided the weapon and contacted law enforcement.

Long told deputies she never had the box cutter or the razor, but that the victim had pulled out a knife and threatened to cut himself to "hurt her emotionally." She said she did want the dilaudid but only so she could go to sleep.

Long faces a charge of domestic aggravated assault, and was being held in the Manatee County jail on a $5,000 bond.
