Hit-and-run driver sought in Sarasota crash
SARASOTA -- Law enforcement is looking for the driver of an F-250 or F-350 Ford pickup truck who improperly passed and sideswiped another vehicle northbound on Mauna Loa Boulevard and fled the scene.
The crash occurred in the painted median safety zone on Mauna Loa Boulevard approaching Bee Ridge Road about 1:05 p.m. Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
One of the truck's right-side tires struck a 2010 Honda Civic. The Honda's 72-year-old driver was unhurt.
Anyone with information about the pickup driver, described as a male wearing sunglasses and a head covering, is asked to call trooper Richard Weaver of the Florida Highway Patrol at 941-492-5850 or 239-938-1800.
