FHP: Bradenton Audi driver seriously injured, cited in crash
MANATEE -- A Bradenton man driving an Audi A4 suffered serious injuries and was ticketed in a crash at 5:25 a.m. Thursday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Steven Wayne Scott, 46, was cited for careless driving after FHP troopers said his vehicle collided with the right rear of a tractor trailer on State Road 62 about 1.3 miles east of Saffold Road, according to the release.
FHP troopers said Scott was traveling behind the tractor trailer eastbound on S.R. 62. When the tractor trailer slowed to turn right into the driveway of 25155 S.R. 62, the Audi crashed into the right rear of the trailer.
Troopers reported no skid marks on the roadway, but gouge marks were found on S.R. 62 near the point of impact.
Scott was transported to Blake Medical Center with serious injuries. The tractor trailer driver was uninjured.
