FHP: Sarasota woman, 91, dies in three-vehicle crash
SARASOTA -- A 91-year-old Sarasota woman died in a three-vehicle crash at 5:25 p.m. Thursday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Bruna Tinti Boscarino was pronounced dead by the Sarasota County Fire Department officials on scene after the crash at North Lockwood Ridge Road and Monica Parkway.
According to the release, Boscarino was northbound in the northwest driveway access of Northeast Plaza, stopped at the intersection with North Lockwood Ridge Road.
A Dodge Ram driven by a 32-year-old Bradenton man was northbound on North Lockwood Ridge Road in the left lane approaching the northwest driveway access of Northeast Plaza.
FHP troopers said a Saturn Vue driven by a 67-year-old Sarasota woman was southbound on North Lockwood Ridge Road in the left lane approaching the northwest driveway access of Northeast Plaza.
Boscarino crossed the northbound lanes of North Lockwood Ridge Road into the path of the Dodge Ram, according to the release, which struck the left side of Boscarino's vehicle.
FHP troopers said the impact caused Boscarino's vehicle to rotate into the southbound lanes of North Lockwood Ridge Road and the rear struck the left side of the third vehicle.
The driver of the Dodge Ram and his passenger suffered minor injuries. The third driver was uninjured.
The investigation is ongoing, FHP reported.
