Motorcyclist injured after crash in Palmetto
PALMETTO -- A male motorcyclist suffered nonlife-threatening injuries at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday after colliding with a vehicle, according to the Palmetto Police Department.
Police received a call about the crash at Second Avenue West and 10th Street West. Palmetto police Sgt. Thomas Smith reported a vehicle northbound on Second Avenue pulled into the path of a motorcyclist westbound on 10th Street West.
The vehicle driver was cited for violation of right of way, Smith said. He was unable to immediately identify the vehicle driver.
The road was cleared by 7:31 p.m.
Smith said the motorcyclist was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital.
The crash is under investigation, police reported.
