Bradenton woman arrested in undercover operation targeting prostitutes
BRADENTON -- An undercover operation by the Bradenton Police Department has resulted in the arrest of an alleged prostitute.
Police say they received a tip on March 28 that Jessica Genz was conducting illegal activity out of a residence in the 1200 block of 12th Avenue West in Bradenton. Officers then located an account for Genz on an advertising site called Backpage that listed her as a female escort.
Undercover officers contacted Genz and set up a meeting on Thursday, according to a release. Genz and the officer agreed in front of the residence that he would pay her $100 for sexual acts and she was arrested inside.
"The City of Bradenton Police Department will continue its city-wide enforcement effort to prevent and stop the illegal acts of prostitution," the report states.
