Manatee County Sheriff's Office investigating armed robbery in Bradenton

MANATEE -- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery at Family Discount Beverages in Bradenton.

The incident took place at 8:22 p.m. Wednesday at the store located at 5235 26th St. W., Bradenton. According to a release, deputies responded to an armed robbery at the store. Deputies said the suspect entered the store and demanded money. The suspect then took an undetermined amount of cash and fled.

According to the release, the suspect was last seen running north on 26th Street West. The suspect said he was armed but no weapon was seen, the sheriff's office said.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, average build, and last seen wearing khaki shorts, white tennis shoes, a long sleeve black t-shirt, and black cloth over his face.
