MANATEE -- A Bradenton man was charged with punching a victim in the face, causing a bloody lip and possibly a missing tooth, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Jimmy Louis Harris, 45, was arrested at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 6000 block of 11th Street East, according to a report. At 4:30 a.m. Monday, Harris and the victim, who are unrelated, were in a verbal argument that turned physical when Harris punched the victim one time with his fist, deputies said. Police said the victim sustained a bloody lip and possibly a missing tooth. The report did not detail the nature of the argument.

Police said Harris fled on foot before deputies arrived.

Harris was charged with battery and was released the same day from Manatee County jail on $500 bond, according to the sheriff's office website.
