BRADENTON -- A Bradenton man has been charged with stealing 11 Apple iPads worth about $12,000 while working as a vendor at a Pittsburgh Pirates spring training game, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Todd Dyson, 22, is charged with grand theft of $10,000 or more but less than $20,000. Dyson was released from the Sarasota County jail on Saturday on a $1,500 bond.

On Friday, Bradenton police detectives were called to McKechnie Field, 1611 Ninth St. W., Bradenton, to investigate the reported theft, according to a news release. Detectives determined Dyson was working for a vendor in the Pittsburgh Pirates home clubhouse when he stole the 11 iPads.

Dyson had hidden the iPads in his work equipment before leaving McKechnie Field, according to detectives.

Ten of the 11 iPads have been recovered by police.
