Police find heroin, cocaine, ecstacy, marijuana in Sarasota apartment
SARASOTA -- The Sarasota Police Department arrested two men Friday after finding large amounts of heroin, cocaine, ecstacy and marijuana while executing a search warrant.
Police executed the search warrant at an apartment in the 1900 block of 24th Street in Sarasota, which was obtained during an investigation of illegal drug sales at the residence.
Police said they found 34.2 grams of cocaine, 19.5 grams of heroin, 6.7 grams of ecstacy and 36.4 grams of marijuana. In addition to drugs, police found five loaded handguns and $2,379 in cash.
Police arrested Lamont W. Brookins, 27, of Sarasota, and Curtis E. Butler, 28, of Bradenton. Neither lived at the residence where the search warrant was conducted.
Brookins was charged with cocaine possession and Butler was charged with marijuana possession.
