Ruskin boy on bicycle killed in collision with vehicle
APOLLO BEACH -- A 14-year-old boy on a bicycle was killed early Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle driven by a Bradenton woman, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Dylan Herman of Ruskin died at the scene of the 2:39 a.m. accident on U.S. 41 south of Apollo Beach Boulevard in Hillsborough County.
Donnel Wolfe, 42, who was driving a 2014 Hyudai Santa Fe, did not see the bicycle, which also was traveling in the inside lane of southbound on U.S. 41, as she approached, the FHP said.
Dylan was not wearing a helmet, and alcohol was not a factor, the FHP report said.
