Bradenton man charged with stealing car at gunpoint, assaulting law enforcement
BRADENTON -- A Bradenton man is facing charges after police say he stole someone's car at gunpoint, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
Rocky Valeur, 22, is charged with armed robbery, grand theft auto and serious assault on a law enforcement officer. He is being held at the Manatee County jail without bond.
At 8:58 p.m. Thursday, Bradenton police officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 100 block of 15th Avenue Circle West in Bradenton, according to a news release. The two victims told police that as they were walking into their home, they were approached by a man with a gun who demanded they keys to their car, police said.
The suspect left with the victims' car, which they then reported stolen.
There were no injuries reported.
On Monday, deputies with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office found the stolen vehicle and took its two occupants into custody, according to the report. Both were taken to the Bradenton Police Department to be questioned.
After detectives interviewed both suspects, the victims were shown a photo line-up and they identified Valeur as the man who stole their car.
