FHP: Hit-and-run semi driver knocks Myakka City car into fence
EAST MANATEE -- The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the driver of a tractor trailer who went into oncoming traffic side at 7:55 p.m. Friday swiping another car and sending it into a barbed wire fence.
A 48-year-old Myakka City woman was westbound in a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero on State Road 70, east of Sugar Bowl Road when an eastbound tractor trailer veered into the westbound lane crashing into the left side of the car, according to FHP.
The impact caused the Oldsmobile to spin counterclockwise and crash into a barbed wire fence.
The white semi with a green fruit trailer left the scene, according to FHP.
The Oldsmobile driver and a 14-year-old passenger were taken to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries, according to FHP.
