Up to $5,000 reward offered for information leading to arrest of Bradenton murder suspect

MANATEE -- The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $2,000 reward for information on the whereabouts of Robert Eugene Brewer, who is accused of fatally shooting Kevin McCants on Dec. 19, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Law enforcement believes Brewer is still in the area and advised that he should be considered armed and dangerous, according to a release. In addition to the newly announced $2,000 reward, Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward of up to $3,000.

Witnesses told detectives up to four men in a black Toyota Camry pulled up to the 1000 block of 33rd Avenue East in Bradenton and shot McCants, according to the sheriff's office. Multiple witnesses identified Brewer as the shooter and a warrant calling for his arrest charged him with second-degree murder.
