Police dog bites domestic violence suspect during apprehension in West Bradenton

WEST BRADENTON -- A suspect wanted on a domestic violence charge fled deputies Sunday evening but was quickly apprehended with the assistance of police canine, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report.

Christopher Ulmer, 34, was tracked down about 8 p.m. by MCSO canine Boey and his handler, who observed the suspect jumping over a fence near the 4100 block of 78th Street West, the report said.

Boey bit Ulmer during the apprehension, and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
