Verizon's 911 circuits having issues in Sarasota

SARASOTA -- Verizon is currently having issues with its 911 circuits so callers in Sarasota County may be experiencing difficulties connecting on emergency calls, according Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office is letting the public know they can use theses alternate lines:

Citizens may get a busy tone or automated message if they dial 911," a news release stated. "Those responses are sent from Verizon and individual providers. Our Public Safety Communications Center does not send those messages."
