Knife charge added in jail to fourth DUI for Bradenton man

MANATEE -- A Bradenton man just arrested for his fourth DUI offense was charged with introducing contraband into a detention facility after deputies found a knife in his hand, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

At 11 p.m. Feb. 11, a sheriff's deputy searched 56-year-old Javier Juardo and found a set of keys in Juardo's front-left pocket along and a full beer can in his front-right pocket.

Juardo was handcuffed at Manatee County jail when deputies noticed an open foldable knife in his hands about 4 inches long. The knife was removed from Juardo's hand.

Juardo was charged with driving under the influence, driving while license suspended, and introducing contraband into a detention facility, according to the sheriff's office website. He was held in Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $9,500.
