Manatee Elementary School in Bradenton put in lockdown Tuesday during search for two suspects

BRADENTON -- Manatee Elementary School was temporarily placed on lockdown at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday as the Manatee County Sheriff's Office spotted two suspects in the area.

Deputies saw a vehicle in the 800 block of 17th Street Court East in Bradenton driven by David Evans who was wanted for violation of probation, according to the sheriff's office. The vehicle stopped and Evans, 35, and Timothy Shawn Carpenter, 28, ran.

Deputies tracked Carpenter and arrested him for burglary, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and a charge of violation of probation out of Sarasota.

Evans remains at large.

The school at 1609 Sixth Ave. E., Bradenton, was given the all clear at 1:48 p.m., said Linda Lambert, a Manatee County District district spokeswoman. Anyone with information on Evan's whereabouts can call the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at 941-747-3011.
