Bystanders thwart robbery attempt at Bradenton Walgreens
BRADENTON -- Witnesses thwarted an attempted robbery at a Bradenton pharmacy on Sunday, according to a Bradenton Police Department report.
The suspect, an unidentified 27-year-old man, approached pharmacists at about 12:45 p.m. at the Walgreens Pharmacy at 5896 Cortez Road, implied he had a weapon and demanded narcotics, the report said.
Bystanders were able to apprehend and detain the suspect until police officers arrived, the report said.
The suspect treated and released from Blake Hospital for unspecified injuries and taken into custody on a charge of attempted armed robbery.
