4 charged in connection with more than 40 vehicle burglaries in Sarasota
SARASOTA -- Four people, an adult and three juveniles, have been arrested in connection with more than 40 vehicle burglaries at parking garages in Sarasota, according to police.
The break-ins happened between Monday and Tuesday morning at BB&T Bank, 1800 Second St.; Hollywood 20, 1993 Main St.; and Wells Fargo Bank, 1819 Main St.
"Detectives believe citizens could be victims and not even realize it," a news release states.
Matthew S. Gunn, 18, has been charged with burglary of an occupied structure, a felony, in connection with the burglaries, police said. The three juveniles, whose names were not released, have been charged with burglary of an occupied structure and/or burglary of an unoccupied vehicle. The exact number of charges remains pending, police said.
