BRADENTON -- A Bradenton Beach woman was charged with punching and kicking her roommate and best friend of two years during an argument, according to the Bradenton Beach Police Department.

Caitlin A. Lemmond, 25, was arrested at 4:02 a.m. Saturday at the home she shares with the victim in the 2500 block of Avenue B in Bradenton Beach. According to a report, Lemmond and the victim share rent and reside in the same dwelling in Bradenton Beach. At 3:30 a.m. Saturday, the victim and Lemmond got into an argument over Lemmond disrespecting the victim's parents and not paying her portion of the rent on time. Police said Lemmond left the apartment and returned a few minutes later.

According to the report, the argument escalated when Lemmond punched the victim in the face, causing a swollen left eye. Lemmond upturned furniture and continued to punch and kick the victim. The victim was able to grab the phone and call her parents, who in turn contacted police, officers said.

Lemmond was charged with battery causing bodily harm, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office website. She was released the same day from Manatee County jail on $500 bond.
