Manatee neighbors fight, one hospitalized with two stab wounds
MANATEE -- A fight where a 47-year-old man suffered two stab wounds in the chest is being investigated as a possible self-defense case by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
About 7:04 p.m. Friday, the 47-year-old knocked on his 33-year-old neighbor's door in the 5400 block of 15th Street Court East, and punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground, according to a sheriff's report.
The attacker continued to punch the victim while he was on the ground. The younger man pulled a pocketknife from his pocket and stabbed his attacker in the chest twice.
The 47-year-old was transported to the hospital for treatment of his stab wounds and was held for observation. The wounds were believed to be minor, the sheriff's report said.
The 33-year-old was also transported to the hospital, but was released.
No arrests have yet been made.
