Bradenton man sentenced to life in federal prison for producing child porn, trying to have sex with minor
BRADENTON -- A Bradenton man was sentenced to life in federal prison Wednesday for producing child pornography and attempting to entice a minor for illegal sexual activity, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Nathan Alexander Bryan, 40, pleaded guilty Oct. 25.
On June 21, Bryan was arrested by FBI Child Exploitation Task Force agents after a 14-month undercover investigation into his Craigslist ads for baby-sitting, nannying and housekeeping, which were designed to access children for sex.
A Bradenton police detective and task force agent learned Bryan, previously investigated for sexual exploitation of children, was trying to obtain baby-sitting jobs by answering online ads in April 2014. The agent posed as the stepfather of an 8-year-old boy and began posting ads.
Bryan and the detective exchanged online text messages before Bryan told him he was moving to Orlando. In June, the detective learned Bryan was back from Orlando and posted an ad claiming to be looking for a baby sitter for his then-9-year-old stepson. Bryan quickly responded.
He discussed various sex acts he wanted to perform on the child, according to court documents.
On June 21, Bryan traveled to Bradenton to engage in illegal sexual acts with a minor. He was arrested after he shared a video he produced with explicit images of a boy.
Bryan was ordered by the federal court at his sentencing to forfeit all items used to commit the crimes, according to news release.
