Sarasota deputies arrest man on charges of armed robbery; other suspect at large
SARASOTA -- Deputies have arrested one man and are looking for another in a string of thefts in Sarasota, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
Jonathan Hoselton was identified during a traffic stop on Jan. 19, after a RaceTrac in Venice was robbed, according to a release. David Peckham was driving the vehicle and sped away, crashing near the Central County Solid Waste Disposal Complex on Knights Trail Road.
Deputies continued to search for the suspects and learned that later that day, Hoselton and Peckham burglarized a residence in Calusa Lakes, stealing two bicycles, hats and golf shoes. They were later spotted at Walgreens in Nokomis where they purchased clothing that they changed into, according to the sheriff's office.
Hoselton was arrested Thursday morning in Pinellas County and charged with armed robbery and occupied residential burglary. Peckham is still on the run and faces the same charges.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Peckham or information in these cases can call Criminal Investigations at 941.861.1701 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers of Sarasota County by calling 941.366.TIPS (8477) or online at www.sarasotacrimestoppers.com.
