Sarasota police looking for man caught on video damaging elevator with skateboard
SARASOTA -- The Sarasota Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a possibly juvenile male caught on camera throwing his skateboard into a parking garage elevator door on Jan. 12.
A group of men were caught on camera skateboarding in the new State Street Parking Garage, 1538 State St. in Sarasota at 7:50 p.m. Jan. 12, according to a release.
The suspect aims and throws his skateboard at the elevator door several times in the video, causing damage to outer elevator doors. Police estimate the cost of the damage at between $5,000 and $8,000.
