Attackers beat employee at Burger King in Bradenton over slow service

MANATEE -- A Burger King employee in Bradenton was beaten by a customer for taking too long with a food order, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

At 7:20 p.m. Jan. 16, the victim said two males in a green Ford Ranger became upset at how long their order was taking at the restaurant located at 5909 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. The victim told deputies that the attacker and the other motorist entered the store and began arguing with the victim over the food. According to an incident report, one customer jumped the counter and grabbed items and threw them around the business but did not take anything. Deputies said the suspect then went outside and was followed by the victim.

While the victim was on the phone, deputies said one suspect punched him in the left jaw. The victim dropped his phone and the suspect then picked up the phone and threw it, breaking it. According to the report, the suspect and the other male fled the scene, heading eastbound on Manatee Avenue West in the vehicle.

The victim did not sustain any injuries from the incident.

Deputies could not locate the suspects. No arrests have been made in the case as of Thursday, according to sheriff's office spokesman Dave Bristow.
