Woman charged with pushing ex-husband's wife in Manatee County Sheriff parking lot

MANATEE -- A woman was charged with battery Sunday after she pushed her ex-husband's wife over a child dispute in the Manatee County Sheriff's Office parking lot, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Erika Pineda, 36, regularly made child exchanges with her ex-husband in that parking lot and was picking up her children at 6 p.m., according to an arrest report.

The victim got out of her car and told Pineda that she needed to "make sure she feeds and bathes her daughters before she drops them off next week because she is tired of having to take care of them when they get back."

Pineda got upset and started yelling at the victim to mind her own business, according to the report, and the victim told her she should be embarrassed of the way she acts.

Pineda then pushed the victim, causing her to take a few steps back, in front of Pineda's ex-husband and their children, deputies said.

The victim then walked into the sheriff's office to report the incident.

Pineda was arrested and charged with battery. She told deputies that she had pushed the victim because she was "getting into her business" and called her foul names.

Pineda was released from the Manatee County jail Sunday on $500 bond.
