Bradenton driver facing charges after crashing into a power pole, knocking it down
BRADENTON -- A Bradenton driver is facing charges of driving drunk and crashing into and knocking down an electric pole, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
At 2:44 a.m. Saturday, the driver crashed into a power pole at the corner of Manatee Avenue and 26th Street West in Bradenton, knocking it down, according to a police report. The driver then fled from the scene.
Law enforcement ultimately located the driver in Manatee County and the Florida Highway Patrol took over the investigation.
The driver is now facing charges including driving under the influence.
Florida Power and Light repaired the pole and power was restored to the affected residents and businesses.
