Bradenton police: Victim in critical condition after being punched, kicked by Bradenton man

BRADENTON -- A Bradenton man has been charged with punching and kicking a victim during an altercation with two others.

Gerald Arline, 47, was arrested Saturday. On Jan. 6, police responded to the 1600 block of West 15th Street for a reported battery. Preliminary investigation revealed there was an altercation among three people inside of a residence, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

According to a release, the victim was punched and kicked by Arline and transported to Blake Hospital for unknown injuries. While at Blake Medical Center, police reported the victim's condition quickly deteriorated and the victim required surgery. The victim is in critical condition, according to a release.

Arline was identified, located on Saturday in the 700 block of 30th Avenue West and taken into custody. According to a report, police found a set of keys attached to a pill container containing rock cocaine.

Arline was charged with battery and possession of cocaine, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office website. He is being held in Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $3,000.
