15 students uninjured when Manatee County school bus struck by SUV
MANATEE -- A 27-year-old Palmetto man was ticketed for improper backing and no valid driver's license after he pulled his 2003 Ford Expedition in front of a school bus carrying 15 students at 4 p.m. Friday.
No one was injured in the collision.
Oscar Alonzo Chavez was reportedly backing out of a private driveway on the south side of 71st Street East when a Manatee County school bus was passing by.
The right rear of the Expedition struck the left rear side of the bus, according to the report.
