MANATEE -- A Bradenton man was charged with threatening to burn a business with a man inside over a failed business transaction, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Andre W. Haisley, 61, was arrested at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday at Discount Tire, 1414 30th Ave. E., Bradenton. According to a report, Haisley's wife contacted the sheriff's office when she saw him leave the business in an angry manner with a water bottle full of gasoline and a rag sticking out of the top. When deputies arrived, the victim was hiding behind a vehicle and pointed at Haisley, saying "He tried to kill me!" Haisley was standing in the entrance of the business.

According to the victim, Haisley came into the store holding a water bottle sideways to make the yellow liquid drip from the rag. In Haisley's right hand was a lit lighter, the victim told deputies. Haisley was shouting that he wanted his money back, according to the sheriff's office. The victim told deputies that Haisley threatened to burn the place down with the victim in it.

When asked what was in his hand, Haisley told deputies "gasoline so I can burn this place down." According to the report, Haisley immediately dropped the bottle and placed his hands behind his back. Haisley told deputies that he did not believe the victim would give him his money back and wanted to let the victim know not to mess with someone's money.

Haisley was charged with aggravated assault and possession of an incendiary device, according to the sheriff's office website. He was being held in Manatee County jail without bond.
