Ohio man identified as crash fatality on Interstate 75 in Sarasota

SARASOTA -- An 82-year-old Ohio man died in a crash Thursday afternoon after he lost control of his SUV while trying to avoid hitting tire debris on Interstate 75 in Sarasota County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man was identified Satuday as Milton Hunter.

At 12:07 p.m., the Warren, Ohio, man was driving a 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer heading north on I-75, just north of the Clark Road exit, when he attempted to avoid the tire debris in the center lane, according to a news release.

He swerved to the right, got onto the east shoulder and then lost control of the SUV. The TrailBlazer overturned several times down the east shoulder embankment until it came to rest on its hood, facing in southwesterly direction, according to the report.
