Sarasota sheriff: Convicted felon faces more drug and weapons charges

SARASOTA -- A convicted felon was arrested at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on new drug and weapons charges after a search warrant was executed at her home, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

Samantha Wynn, 32, was arrested after undercover detectives made three purchases of methamphetamine from Wynn on Avenue in Sarasota over the past few weeks. Deputies watched Wynn's home as she left as a passenger in a vehicle. Following a traffic stop, deputies arrested Wynn on a prior arrest warrant for driving on a suspended license.

Wynn was also charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell when deputies found her with nearly 4 grams of meth, according to the release.

The sheriff's office said the SWAT Team found another 4.1 grams of meth, four different calibers of ammunition, nearly a gram of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Wynn was also charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Wynn was held on bonds totaling $8,000, according to the sheriff's office website.
