3 teenagers charged with stealing from 5 unlocked cars in Bradenton
MANATEE -- Three teenagers were arrested early Monday after they were caught opening unlocked cars and stealing from them, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Two victims heard noises in their driveway in the 100 block of New Briton Court in Stoney Brook at the Heritage Harbour subdivision in Bradenton at 12:30 a.m., according to a release. The husband came outside, saw two males rummaging through their vehicle and began chasing them as the wife called law enforcement.
When deputies arrived a third man, identified as Avery L. Walters, 18, was standing on the same street holding two bags. The other two, identified as a 17-year-old juvenile and Brandon J. Chisan, 18, were caught soon after and positively identified by the victims.
The bag Walters had been holding contained several stolen items from at least five cars in the neighborhood, deputies said. None of the affected cars were locked.
The three teenagers were arrested.
