Bradenton police say man swallowed cocaine during traffic stop
BRADENTON -- After a police officer stopped a vehicle for an expired tag early Tuesday, he discovered the driver had swallowed cocaine and had a stolen firearm in the trunk, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
Police stopped the vehicle in the 2100 block of 1st Street West at 12:08 a.m. and the driver admitted to not having a license, according to a report.
The officer placed the suspect in handcuffs and then found out the man had swallowed cocaine. Police took the man to Manatee Memorial Hospital for medical clearance before he was taken to the jail.
A firearm that was reported stolen in 2012 was found in the trunk of the car.
The suspect was not named in the report. This story will be updated when the name is disclosed.
