BRADENTON -- A Bradenton man was charged with stabbing another man because he felt the victim was disrespecting him, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

William Francis Bellamy, 71, was arrested at 3:03 a.m. Friday at his home in the 1300 block of 13th Street West. Bellamy and the victim argued and police reported Bellamy grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the stomach and back of the head while by the front door. Police said the victim fled and was helped by a friend.

The victim reportedly suffered a severe laceration on the back of his head.
