SARASOTA -- A Sarasota man, his son and his son's girlfriend were arrested on drug charges Thursday after a search warrant was executed at his home, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

Richard Hays, 46, was arrested at 1:15 p.m. Thursday in the 2900 block of Williamsburg Street in Sarasota. According to a release, detectives also arrested Hays' son, 19-year-old Zachary Hays, on three warrants after an undercover investigation during which Hays sold drugs at his home on three separate occasions -- on Nov. 20, Nov. 25, and Dec. 2. During one of the transactions, deputies report Hays' girlfriend, 19-year-old Kayleen Flanagan, delivered the drugs to undercover detectives outside the home.

"When detectives executed a search warrant of Hays' home, they recovered more than 12 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his bedroom," a release states. "Upon search of his father's room, they seized an additional 453 grams of marijuana, 4.5 grams of cocaine, Alprazolam and nearly $1,000 in cash."

Richard Hays was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to sell, possession of cocaine with intent to sell and possession of Alprazaloam. He was released Friday on $10,500 bond, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies said Zachary Hays remains in custody on three counts of sale of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $6,500.

Flanagan, also of Sarasota, faces a single charge of delivery of cannabis and was released Thursday on $1,500 bond, according to a release.

The investigation is ongoing.
