Armed man robs Jersey Mike's in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Deputies are looking for a masked man who used a gun to rob a Jersey Mike's Subs in Bradenton Thursday night, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The man, described as 6-feet tall and 170 pounds with a black bandana covering his face and a Dallas Cowboys ball cap, entered the Jersey Mike's at 5820 Ranch Lake Blvd. at 8:57 p.m. when the 40-year-old clerk was closing the store, according to a release.

The man brandished a pistol, threw a sack at the employee and demanded money, deputies said. He moved the clerk to the back of the store, where the employee filled the bag with cash.

The man then ran away out the back door in an unknown direction.

The sheriff's office said officials have obtained surveillance video of the incident but have not released it to the public.
