Manatee sheriff: Bradenton man charged with stealing air compressor from home

MANATEE -- A Bradenton man was charged with stealing an air compressor from a home he broke into, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

At 11:06 a.m. Tuesday, 28-year-old Robert Lee Elwell forcibly entered a home in the 5400 block of 16th Street East, deputies said. According to a release, a witness observed Elwell as he was exiting through the rear door and contacted the sheriff's office with a description of the suspect.

Deputies said Elwell and the compressor were located in the 5300 block of 16th Street East, where he was arrested.

Booking information for Elwell was not immediately available on the sheriff's office website.
