Bradenton woman critically hurt in crash that kills motorcyclist in Sarasota

SARASOTA -- A Longboat Key man was killed and a Bradenton woman was critically injured in a motorcycle crash over the weekend at the Sarasota Bayfront, according to Sarasota police.

About 3 a.m. Sunday, Michael Corbino, 27, was driving north on South Tamiami Trail, just north of Selby Gardens, when he lost control for an unknown reason and hit a curb. He was pronounced dead on scene.

His passenger, a 22-year-old woman, was taken with life-threatening injuries to Sarasota Memorial Hospital where she was listed in critical condition, police said.

Police said the crash remains under investigation.
