Bradenton woman beaten when she interrupts burglar

BRADENTON -- A Bradenton woman came home from a nightclub at 4:06 a.m. Saturday and was attacked by a burglar, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

The woman arrived at her home in the 1200 block of Second Avenue East in Bradenton to find a burglar in her bedroom, according to the police report. The burglar reportedly punched the woman in the face.

She fell to the floor and the burglar struck her several more times.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Manatee Memorial Hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Police were unable to find the burglar during a search of the area and a known address.
