Woman critically injured after being struck by car while running across Manatee Avenue

BRADENTON -- A woman was critically injured after running across a road at 6:05 p.m. Friday and getting struck by a vehicle, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

The pedestrian ran across the 6600 block of Manatee Avenue West and the driver did not see her, according to the police report.

The victim was taken to Blake Medical Center in critical condition.

Crime scene technicians will process the scene. A preliminary traffic homicide investigation is underway in case the woman does not survive.
