Manatee County man robbed of $300, cell phone at knifepoint

MANATEE -- A man was robbed of $300 and a Samsung Galaxy phone at knifepoint at 6:30 p.m. Friday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect approached the 43-year-old victim from out of the shadows in the 3100 block of Ninth Street East on the west side of the road, deputies reported.

The suspect produced a small knife and demanded money. The victim gave his wallet containing $300 in cash and his Samsung Galaxy phone.

The victim said the suspect was about 5-foot-6 but had no other details, according to the report.

The victim's phone could not be tracked. He was not injured.
