MANATEE -- A Bradenton woman was charged with cocaine possession early Thanksgiving Day, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Linda Susan Randolph, 59, was arrested at 2:34 a.m. Thursday in the 2800 block of 14th Street West. According to a report, deputies observed a suspicious vehicle at Michiana Motel, 3235 14th St. W., Bradenton. Randolph, the only occupant in the vehicle, left the motel and drove very slow north on 14th Street West, switching lanes abruptly to get into the left lane after going through a light at 30th Avenue West.

Deputies said Randolph then entered Mel Mar Mobile Home Park and drove all the way around the park until she turned into a parking space near the bathrooms. According to a report, Randolph got out of the vehicle quickly and stood next to the open driver door. Due to the fact that the area is a high drug and prostitution area, deputies spoke to Randolph, who they said changed her story several times as to why she was there. Deputies asked if she had anything illegal on her person, to which she replied "nope."

Randolph consented to a search, which revealed a piece of crack cocaine in her wallet. Randolph was arrested and charged with cocaine possession, according to the sheriff's office. She told deputies she did not know that the crack was in her wallet.

Randolph was being held in Manatee County jail on $1,500 bond, according to the sheriff's office website.
