Sarasota police looking for man who sexually assaulted woman at park

SARASOTA -- Sarasota police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a woman while she was on a bike ride Wednesday night.

The victim was riding her bike on the sidewalk on the northern edge of Centennial Park, 1059 N. Tamiami Trail, near the 10th Street Boat Ramp parking lot at 7 p.m., according to a release.

A thin man between 30 and 40 years old, 6-feet and 2-inches tall, pulled her from her bicycle and dragged her to the edge of the woods where he sexually assaulted her, police said.

Nearby residents and boat ramp visitors are asked to be on the lookout if they are in the area and to report anything suspicious.
