Bradenton man arrested on drug charges, carrying firearm without a license
BRADENTON -- A Bradenton man was charged with carrying a concealed firearm without a license after being stopped for driving erratically, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
Austin Tyler Thebert, 20, was arrested at 6:56 p.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of 27th Street West, police reported. Police responded 51 minutes earlier to a domestic disturbance Thebert fled in a car.
An officer reportedly saw Thebert driving erratically in the 1400 block of 27th Street West and learned he may have a firearm.
When Thebert stepped out of his vehicle, police noticed a white-handled gun he had been sitting on, according to the report. The gun was unloaded. Thebert reportedly told police he did not have a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
A search of the vehicle revealed a grinder filled with marijuana, police reported.
Thebert was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed firearm without a license. He was held in Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $6,000, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office website.
